About Clint Sellers Mr. Sellers’s interest in small business and planning led him to create a law firm with complementary practice areas. Estate planning and business go well together because each practice area rewards those who plan ahead. Whether drafting a contract or a will, planning ahead to ensure things are done the right way saves money and reduces stress. Mr. Sellers also represents people and companies in civil (i.e., non-criminal) cases, however, because sometimes disputes arise that for whatever reason cannot be resolved outside of court. By staying current and understanding how issues are treated by the courts (as well as being ready to go to court if necessary) he has found that he can prepare stronger documents and negotiate more effectively for clients.
Work Experience For nearly a decade, Mr. Sellers has worked as an attorney who focuses on business law, estate planning and trials. He has practiced in the Harrisonburg, Virginia area since becoming licensed in 2002. Prior to that time, he served as a law clerk in a mid-size firm. During his time as a clerk and later as an associate attorney, Mr. Sellers represented a wide range of clients from individuals to some of the area’s most well-known businesses. He has represented and continues to represent clients in District and Circuit Courts and has also had the honor of briefing and arguing a case before the Virginia Supreme Court. He has also owned and managed a prior law firm with a real estate title company. In February 2007, Mr. Sellers created Clint Sellers PLLC where he has chosen not to hire associates but instead uses staff and paralegals to reduce client costs and while supporting his philosophy that every client is entitled to partner-level expertise.
Mr. Sellers is admitted to practice in all Virginia courts, as well as Federal courts. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar Real Estate and Trust and Estate Sections and is actively involved with community and volunteer organizations.
Education In 1997, Mr. Sellers received his bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Virginia Tech. In 2002, he received his law degree from William and Mary Law School. During his time at William and Mary, Mr. Sellers was selected for the Marshall-Wythe Gambrell Professionalism Award, which recognizes demonstrated professionalism, integrity and commitment to the development of lawyering.
Personal During his free time, Mr. Sellers enjoys being with family and friends, exercise and guitar.
